My name is Harry Hamlin and My wife Deb got here new lungs on Christmas Eve 2006. I have two reasons for writing this story. First I would like to let people that are going to go through the lung transplant Process know where we stayed for our 6 months. The Residence Inn at 201 Residence Inn Blvd 27713. This is about 15 minutes from Duke Hospital and the Center for Living. The hotel was great to us and they gave us a medical rate. Included in the rate was a breakfast every morning and what they called a cocktail hour at night Monday-Thursday. I called it dinner Monday-Thursday. This was a great help in the money saving category for us. Also it made it a lot easier not having to make the meals; we had a lot more important things to worry about.  So what I am saying I highly recommend this Hotel.
During our stay at the hotel for six months there were 6 other couples going through the transplant process with us. So we had our own little support group,  This was the greatest part of staying here. We would talk in the morning at breakfast and again at night at dinner. I believe we helped each other get through it and I want to say thank you to them for helping us get through it.  So I would like to say thank you to Ed and Judy, Bill and Rose, Bob and Patsy, Claude and Becky, Herb and Star and Wayne and Carol.
